The prestigious SMETA audit confirmed our commitments to responsible business practices.

We are proud that, as one of the few companies in our region, we have successfully passed the demanding SMETA audit. SMETA audit (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit), is the most widely used social audit standard worldwide.

The SMETA audit comprehensively evaluates ethical practices, working conditions, occupational safety, environmental impact, and business ethics within supply chains. Its goal is to help companies demonstrate responsible conduct, increase transparency, and reduce potential risks.

The audit focuses on 4 key pillars: Labor Standards, Health & Safety, Environment, and Business Ethics. It is based on the ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative) code of conduct, ILO (International Labor Organization) conventions, and local legal requirements.

During the audit, good practices were identified at both our Olomouc and Stará Boleslav sites. Here are some examples:

  • We have set strategic objectives aimed at reducing our negative environmental impact.
  • We have implemented a Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) system as part of our preventive measures. Overall, a high level of attention is paid to risk prevention and the identification and control of high-risk activities.
  • We offer a wide range of bonuses and benefits that exceed statutory requirements.

Successfully passing the SMETA audit is a great achievement for us and a confirmation of our commitment to responsible business. Membership in the Sedex community will allow us to even better demonstrate our ethical and sustainable practices throughout the entire supply chain.

At Lesaffre Česko, we are proud to be among the companies that are committed to transparency and a responsible approach to business. The SMETA audit is an important tool for us to further develop and strengthen this philosophy.
